To celebrate the World Senior Citizens Day the enthusiastic students from St Kabir School, Naranpura branch along with their teachers and parents embarked on a heartening visit to the old age home, Jeevan Sandhya on Saturday, 19th August. The purpose of the visit was to spread joy, engage in interactive activities, and create lasting memories with the elderly residents living there.
Activities:
The students organized a variety of engaging activities that brought smiles to the faces of the elderly residents. The day started with a lively dance performance, where the students showcased their talents with graceful moves and energetic routines. The elderly residents were captivated by the performance and eagerly cheered on the young performers.
After the dance performance, the students organized an ‘antakshari’ session. This game not only provided entertainment but also encouraged active participation from both the students and the elderly residents. The hall was fi lled with laughter, nostalgic songs, as everyone joined in singing.
Interaction and Bonding:
In addition to the organized activities, the students spent time engaging in heartfelt conversations with the residents. They listened to stories from the past, shared their own experiences, and exchanged laughter and wisdom. This interaction allowed the generations to bridge the gap and form meaningful connections, showcasing the importance of intergenerational bonds.
The visit left a profound impact on both the students and the elderly residents. The students learned valuable life lessons from the residents’ experiences, while the elderly individuals expressed their gratitude for the youthful energy and companionship that the students brought into their lives.
