Students of class 6 from St.Kabir School, Naranpura went on an educational trip to VSSE. Scientists working there took sessions and explained about different types of Rockets and satellites. Different orbits where satellites are launched by India. Mission Chandrayaan and much more. Children were shown GSLV and PSLV types of rockets. Types of fuels used in rockets. Materials used to make space suits. Four types of satellites which have been launched by India, viz- Remote sensing satellites, Communication satellites, Inter planetary satellites and Navigation satellites.
They were shown a short movie on history of space research and astronomy. India’s success story in space research and development.
Children were totally engrossed in absorbing what was being shown and explained. They were so curious to know more and asked numerous questions. Such educational trip help children explore and understand concepts beyond text books.
